iPad 2 Will Be Announced Next Week. Geeks Everywhere Swoon.

The Apple techsters are gonna be giddy over this one. Apple has just rolled invites to the press for an event to be held next Wednesday, March 2nd. What for? According to several sources, the company will be announcing the iPad 2.

If expectations come to fruition, Apple should be describing the iPad 2 as being thinner and lighter, having a better display (Retina-like), front-facing camera with Facetime video chat support and a faster processor. Some reports are even suggesting that the device will be powered by one of Qualcomm’s multimode chips that allow for operation on GSM and CDMA-based networks around the globe.
