Bethesda Announces ‘Doom Eternal’

1 min read

The sequel to one of 2016’s biggest games was just announced during Bethesda’s conference at E3. While there was next to no details about the game, there were a few promises made to the Doom faithful. Creative Director Hugo Martin and Executive Producer Marty Stratton promised to make the Doomslayer more powerful than ever, to introduce twice as many kick-ass demons, and to bring hell on Earth to the sequel. The teaser shown during the presentation did manage to build a considerable amount of hype as cameras were shown panning through what looked like hell. Bones, lava pits, and of course giant gnarly demons were shown navigating this massive hellscape.

The reboot to Doom was a massively successful game, receiving critical praise in just about every aspect of it. The single player campaign was widely praised as one of the best of the year. Rocking an insane arsenal of weapons, lightning fast gameplay, and super scary demonic enemies, Bethesda’s Doom was unlike any version before it. There was a decent multiplayer mode, and a really sweet map maker called the ‘Level Creation Tool.’ The LCT allowed players to make a custom map for sue in any mode within the game.

There will be more details on the Doom sequel at Quake Con in August, stay tuned to Nerd News as details become available.
