Mario Kart Tour Officially Releasing On September 25th

The next mobile installment of one of Nintendo’s most popular franchises will finally debut next month. Mario Kart Tour will be releasing on iOS and Android devices September 25th. Mario Kart remains one of Nintendo’s most beloved games and making the jump to mobile felt like a no-brainer. For the uninitiated, Mario Kart features characters from the Super Mario franchise racing against each other across varying locations from different installments within the franchise and its spinoffs. Players are encouraged to use weapons and power-ups as a means of gaining the ultimate advantage against other racers.

Mario Kart Tour did enjoy a closed beta on Android back in the Spring which was met with split opinions. Some people loved the new look, and simplified gaming mechanics, while others saw it as just another money grab. The game does feature microtransactions which will surely infuriate some, but for the most part, the game is still fun and hold a ton of replay value.

In addition to the wildly popular Pokemon GO! Nintendo has also released Super Mario Run, and Dr. Mario, all of which are available to download on iOS and Android.
