Michael Keaton In Talks To Return As Batman In Next ‘Flash’ Movie

1 min read

Robert Pattinson’s take on Batman may be over before we even get to see it. Rumor has it, an old favorite may be getting ready to don the cape and cowl once again. Famed actor Michael Keaton is in talks to return as Batman in the next ‘Flash’ movie.

Michael Keaton last played the caped crusader in 1992, in Tim Burton’s “Batman Returns.” For many, Keaton was their first and most memorable Batman, as the role was passed around to different actors in the mid to late ’90s. Most recently Ben Affleck played Batman, but his take on the character only lasted one full film. Affleck stepped away from the part after Justice League, making way for ‘Twilight’ star Robert Pattinson to be cast in the role.

Ezra Miller will finally get a chance to play the primary protagonist in his first solo Flash film. ‘Flash’ director Andy Muschietti has the perfect character to reintroduce Keaton’s Batman with as The Flash often toyed with time and dimensional travel. This gives DC a way to allow Keaton’s Batman to be entirely different from Pattinson’s. It’ll be interesting to see how DC pulls off both interpretations of The Dark Knight.

‘The Flash’ is set to hit theaters in June 2022.
