Apple Announces Repair Program For Defective iPhone 11 Models
1 min readApple is rolling out a new repair program for select iPhone 11 models that may be defective. Users with affected models will experience a sudden failure in their touchscreens.
According to Apple, the issue is caused by a failure in the display module. The only fix for the issue currently is to have the module replaced. Apple also says that the issue is isolated specifically to iPhone 11 models, not the 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max.
If you think you have a device that may be affected, you can use this Apple Support Site to verify. If eligible, you’ll then have the option to take your phone into an Apple Authorized Service Provider, make an appointment at an Apple Retail store, or have your phone replaced through Apple’s exchange by mail program. As always, if you need to get your phone replaced, make sure you have all your data backed up to your Mac or PC, or through iCloud.
Lastly, Apple is covering the iPhone 11 models through the first two years of the original sale of affected devices. This is especially important to know when purchasing a pre-owned or second-hand device.
