Marvel Is Producing A Fantastic Four Movie Directed By ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Director Jon Watts

Disney announced today that a film featuring the first family of Marvel will soon be in development. Yes, finally Marvel will be producing a Fantastic Four movie helmed by ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ director Jon Watts.

This will be the fourth attempt at a feature film for the wildly popular family of superheroes. There have already been two films released in 2005 and 2007, followed by an ill-fated reboot in 2015. Following several years of hype surrounding a potential Marvel developed Fantastic Four film, fans will now finally get to see one. There have been no additional details surrounding the film or casting, but I’d have to imagine Marvel will take their time to get it right.

Either way, it will be exciting to see this film finally get made. Fantastic Four is one of Marvel’s most important franchises as they are consistently in the middle of massive interstellar conflicts and typically play a role in the solution of those conflicts. At least, in the comics.
