WWE Money In The Bank Predictions
5 min readOk guys, another one of my favorite PPVs is on tonight, and the card is looking to be a pretty decent one this year. Every title except for the US Title is on the line, and we could actually see a few title changes tonight. Of course that’s not why we watch though. No, you see tonight is the Money In The Bank PPV, where we get 7 men in the ring competing in a ladder match to see who’ll win a WWE World Heavyweight Championship opportunity. The contract is suspended above the ring, and the competitors give it their all to see who’ll walk away with what will seemingly guarantee them a WWE Title reign. Let’s take a look at the card, and my predictions for who’ll walk away victorious tonight shall we?
Money In The Bank Pre Show: King Barrett v R-Truth
This “rivalry” is apparently a thing now as R-Truth has been on TV the last few weeks stealing or doninng Wade Barrett’s King Of The Ring crown, robe, and scepter. These two actually have a history all the way back to when Barrett was the Intercontinental champion, and R-Truth has seemingly had Barrett’s number each time. I expect tonight to be the end of that though, and Barrett should go over clean with a Bullhammer.
Winner: King Barrett

Tag Team Title Match: The New Day (c) v The Prime Time Players
The New Day has been one of the hottest, and most entertaining acts on the roster in recent weeks. Their “Holier than Thou” antics have been incredible and have been wisely used to get them some major heel heat. The Prime Time Players have been on a roll lately, and with the recent injury to Tyson Kidd, pretty much makes them the best option to face the champs, at least until the Usos are ready to roll again. I expect The New Day to come out on top in this contest due to some sort of switchery or even a DQ to retain their titles.
Winners: The New Day retain by pinfall, or by DQ
Intercontinental Title Match: Ryback v The Big Show
Ryback has a hell of a task ahead of him. He not only has to follow yet another short Daniel Bryan title run, but also make the fans care enough about his matches to make WWE keep the title on him for a while. Enter The Big Show, a giant, imposing opponent that could legitimately dethrone Ryback on his first title defense. Do I think that’s going to happen though? Absolutely not. I think the Big Show is the perfect first opponent for Ryback, as Big Show will allow Ryback to get a win in a hard-fought battle, while also making him look like a dominant champion. This match will be physical, but in the end, we’ll continue to hear “FEED ME MORE” chants fill the arena.
Winner: Ryback
John Cena v Kevin Owens:
Their first encounter was nearly perfect. A clinic in punch counter-punch wrestling, as both men told an excellent story in the ring. Owens pulled out all the stops in his first outing with Cena, and this one will be no different. With Owens and Cena, the WWE has a pretty big feud that could have some longevity to it if done right. Since Owens went over Cena at Elimination Chamber (clean even), it only makes sense to have Cena get his win back tonight to extend the program a bit more. I’m thinking the plan is to ultimately have Owens challenge Cena for the US Title at Summerslam, and if that’s the case, WWE would be well served to have Cena go over tonight. Owens could lose to Cena and still be in a good position with NXT and eventually even be called up to the main roster permanently very soon.
Winner: John Cena
Divas Title Match: Nikki Bella(c) v Paige
I figured by now, we’d still be having a Naomi, Nikki, and Paige triangle for the Divas title. It seems WWE has other plans and thus we have Paige challenging Nikki Bella for the Divas title. I think Nikki had an excellent run with the Divas Title, but it’s starting to run on fumes now. She’s seemingly run through the entire division while somehow simultaneously playing the role of both a face and a heel. She’s rallied the crowd to get behind her and summoned up a fighting champs spirit in some matches and in others she’s gotten a win by the overused ‘Twin Magic’ switcheroo. I think it’s time to see some fresh matchups in the Divas division, and I think Paige would be the best option as champion to usher in those new matchups.
Winner: Paige
Money In The Bank Ladder Match: Roman Reigns v Kane v Neville v Dolph Ziggler v Sheamus v Kofi Kingston v Randy Orton
This has the be the weirdest Money In The Bank lineup in years. Kane’s inclusion still boggles my mind, but makes perfect sense in the grand scheme of things. Kofi and Neville are there to fill the “Death Defying High Flyer” role, while the hometown hero Dolph Ziggler seems to be an even longer shot than those two. Randy Orton is there only to enhance the prestige of this match, and Sheamus will be the bruiser he normally is in this type of matchup. Of course, we can’t deny that the favorite to win it all is Roman Reigns. He was the golden boy chosen to win the Royal Rumble, and once the crowd backlash began, WWE pulled the plug and ran with a Rollins cash in instead. Now that the WWE fans are seemingly behind Reigns again, there will probably be no better time than to pull the trigger on him winning the briefcase and cashing in on Rollins at some point. I am hoping for the swerve of all swerves to happen though, with Kofi Kingston winning, and having all three members of The New Day being able to stake claim to a contract.
Winner: Roman Reigns
WWE World Heavyweight Title Ladder Match: Seth Rollins (c) v Dean Ambrose
Dean and Seth have really great chemistry in the ring. Their matches are usually always entertaining, and they are both currently in the perfect roles for this program. Dean is a better competitor when he’s chasing the title, and Rollins simply works well as a slimy, conniving heel. This match will be another good match for both men’s portfolios but in the end, I’m sure Seth Rollins will find some way to retain. Then there’s that issue of a certain Beast ready to make is return on tomorrow’s Monday Night Raw.
Winner: Seth Rollins
