Apex Legends Eclipses 1 Million Players In One Day

2 min read

It’s safe to say EA and Respawn Entertainment have a hit on their hands. Their latest title, ‘Apex Legends’ has eclipsed 1 million unique players in just the first day of availability. That is an especially amazing feat, considering there was no prior announcement for the title, and it’s release came as a bit of a shock.

I’m so overwhelmed right now, @PlayApex broke a million unique players in under 8 hours. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much for showing up and being part of this with @Respawn you are amazing!! pic.twitter.com/lvNgfwwKhl— Vince Zampella (@VinceZampella) February 5, 2019

Apex Legends is based within the Titanfall universe, and it allows players to take control of characters with unique abilities and powers. While there’s no giant mech suits available, the gameplay looks insanely fast and furious. Players are divided into teams of three, with servers maxing out at 6o players per match. From there, it’s a battle to the death with each trio fighting for supremacy on one map.

It’s a free to play title, which means you don’t have to buy the title to jump into it. It does however, support micro transactions, and will most likely run similar to how Fortnite works. Basically it’ll be like a mix of PUBG, Fortnite, and Blackout mode from Black Ops 4 all wrapped into a neat little destructive package. Apex Legends is available for download on PS4, Xbox One, and PC right now. Check out some of the gameplay below, and let us know if you plan on jumping into an Apex Legends lobby soon!
