Apple Announces New iPhone 8 and 8 Plus

Fresh from their special event in the new Steve Jobs theater, Apple finally unveiled the latest version of their best selling device, the iPhone. Dubbed the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, the new iPhones are glass on both the front and back, and are reinforced by a single aluminum band. With the glass back, the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will also have wireless charging available. They’ll use the Qi wireless charging standard, which means it’ll work with just about every wireless charger on the market today. They’re maintaining the water resistance of the 7 and 7 Plus models, but will receive an upgrade in the display department. Apple also revealed they’ll be powered by the new A11 Bionic Chipset. This new chip packs a ton of processing power underneath, that boasts native noise reduction, 30% faster processing power than the A10 chip, and aids the sensor in the camera to produce better photos. Speaking of photos, Apple also added a new 12MP sensor to the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.

The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will be available in Space Gray, Silver, and Gold. The storage configurations will be 64GB and 256GB. Preorders will begin Sept 15th and will be available for purchase Sept 22nd.
