Apple Introduces A New iPad Air & iPad Mini

1 min read

Today Apple announced two new iPad models to refresh their tablet lineup. The iPads are a new iPad Air, and iPad Mini, both of which were previously believed to have been discontinued. Both iPads will resurrect the beloved home button and TouchID, as Apple has largely moved away from home buttons on newer iPads and their iPhones. While the new iPad Air and Mini will have the home button, FaceID will be absent on both models, which will most likely also mean no support for your Animojis either.

The iPad Air will have a 10.5-inch design, and will also include support for the Apple Pencil. It will also carry the A12 Bionic processor, which is Apple’s most powerful chipset to date. The iPad Mini will be more of the same, maintaining support for the Apple Pencil and the A12 Bionic processor. The biggest difference here is the screen size, as the iPad Mini will max out at a 7.9-inch display.

Both iPad models will be available for order beginning today, and will launch in retail stores next week. The new iPad Air will start at $499 for the Wi-Fi model, while the Wi-Fi+ Cellular model will start at $629. As for the iPad Mini, you can expect to drop $399 for the Wi-Fi model, or $529 for one with Wi-Fi + Cellular.
