Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Finally Unveils The Map For Blackout Mode

2 min read

We’re finally starting to see details surrounding Call Of Duty’s ‘Blackout’ mode appear just weeks before the mode goes live. Today, gamers were treated to the reveal of the map from the anticipated game mode. Game developer Treyarch first revealed the map in a tweet posted to their official account on Wednesday.

The map itself is the largest in Call Of Duty history. It has several different locales, and most of them draw inspiration from maps in previous Call Of Duty games. The coolest reveal on the map, is the fact that there’s an entire “island” dedicated to Nuke Town. For the uninitiated, Nuke Town is easily the most popular map in Call Duty history. It’s most known for it’s insanely fast paced, wildly chaotic gameplay. It’s a smaller map, which means firefights are usually happening at every turn, making it the most fun as well.

Looking at the tweet, it looks like Nuke Town is getting a massive bump in scale though. It’s definitely intriguing to see what Treayarch whips up for Nuke Town island, and exactly what add-ons appear. In addition to Nuke Town, there’s the Train Station, and Array joining the list of classic Call of Duty locations in Blackout. With Battle Royale eSports games being all the rage currently, there’s no better time for Activision to be releasing their own take on the genre. They have a mighty hill to climb if they want to try to dethrone the current battle royale champ, Fortnite.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 won’t release until October 12th, but the beta for Blackout will start to roll out on September 10th for PS4. Xbox and PC players will most likely get their hands on the beta a week later. Now for the slightly bad news: The only way to gain access to the beta, is to preorder the game.
