Carey Elwes And Jake Busey Set To Join The Cast Of ‘Stranger Things’

2 min read

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse for the town of Hawkins, The Duffer Brothers go and up the ante. We’ve just learned of two more new faces set to join the cast of Stranger Things for season three, and neither of them sound like upstanding citizens. The first of which is a character by the name of Major Kline. This character will be played by Carey Elwes, and is described as “handsome, slick, and sleazy. He’s your classic 80’s politician, and is more concerned with his own image than the people of the small town he governs.” Sounds like a character that will more than likely be the primary antagonist headed into next season. Sleazy politicians are typically easily bought, and there’s a certain National Laboratory that would pay anything to keep their experiments a secret. Elwes, best known for his role in ‘The Princess Bride’ is a fantastic choice for this role.

Next up, we have Bruce who’ll be played by Jake Busey. Bruce is a journalist for the Hawkins Post, and is described as having “questionable morals and a sick sense of humor.” Pretty sure this guy will stumble onto some of the discoveries Murray Bauman came across in season two.

As the world of Hawkins slowly grows, one can’t help but wonder when things will reach their boiling point. If you watched season two, you’d know that things definitely aren’t all good, and in fact, they are looking like they’ll get even worse before they get better. Hopefully there’s not a ton of side story told in the upcoming season like there was in season two as that greatly took away from the overall story. It’ll be interesting to see the impact of these new characters on the overall story though, and I’m especially interested in the development of Elwes character. ‘Stranger Things’ season three will return to Netflix sometime on 2019, so you have all the time in the world to binge and catch up!
