Carriers Agree To Stop With “Bill Shock”, Alert Customers Of Pending Overage Charges

Remember a little while ago we reported that the FCC would soon start requiring carriers to notify customers before levying a gigantic bill on them? Well, that day is finally upon us, as all carriers have agreed to stop slamming customers with massive bills without notification. No doubt a tremendous victory for all who use cellphones, as overages have skyrocketed in the past few years, some reaching within $100 and the most extreme being $68,000.  While this isn’t officially a “requirement” by the FCC, they have gone on record saying that this is a “Trust but verify” approach, and if they see carriers not cooperating then they will take action.

Anybody out there excited about this news? Have you been recently slammed with a huge bill without prior notification from your carrier? Sound off in the comments.
