Dean Ambrose Says Farewell To WWE Universe After RAW

2 min read

It appears as if Dean Ambrose’s exit from WWE isn’t storyline after all. It’s been a bit of a hot topic with “will he or won’t he” highlighting Ambrose’s sudden desire to leave. Fans debated on the legitimacy of his departure as many people (myself included), all thought he would somehow change his mind and spark yet another Shield reunion. That is not the case however, as all three members of the Shield made it known that this was indeed, the real thing. Dean Ambrose himself made sure to say farewell to the WWE Universe after RAW went off the air Monday.

The biggest drawback to Dean’s departure, is the fact that he still had a ton of potential within WWE. We never got that Shield Triple Threat Match at Wrestlemania. We never got to see a second World Title run, with Ambrose as a heel. While nothing is for certain in the world of pro wrestling, one has to wonder if we’ll EVER get to see these things. As of now, there’s been no concrete reason as to why Dean felt the urge to leave, outside of his unhappiness with how he was being used. Many people backstage have also verified that Ambrose was generally unhappy with the direction of his character. The constant statement being that Dean hates “Hokey shit.”

That’s essentially been the last year of Ambrose’s character though. After missing several months recovering from a biceps injury, Ambrose returned to WWE programming in August 2018. Sporting a new look and a much more chiseled physique, it looked as if Ambrose was primed for big things. Instead, he was placed in mostly meaningless feuds, losing majority of his matches. It makes sense that Ambrose would be unhappy as he does have one hell of a resume to bank on. He’s a former WWE United States Champion, former Intercontinental Champion, former Tag Team Champion, and a former WWE World Champion. While it’s hard to legitimately describe who “deserves” what in the world of sports entertainment, but Ambrose definitely earned a higher spot on the card.

Check it out as Shield brothers Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns help Dean Ambrose say goodbye.
