God Of War Makes Its Long Awaited Return At E3

1 min read

The God Of War franchise is one of the most storied gaming franchises in PlayStation history.  Selling more than 30 million copies worldwide, and after countless remasters and updated collections, God Of War fans will finally get what we’ve long been waiting for; A next gen God Of War Game.

The reveal trailer from E3 showcased an older, more grizzled Kratos than we’ve ever seen before. In the latest installment Kratos is mentoring his son in mastering the ways of war, while mastering the anger that has nearly cost him his life. This also marks the beginning of a new era for God Of War, as developers are moving away from the world of Greek mythology and into Norse mythology. This game promises to be more different than past titles as gameplay has been revamped, and the combat system has been upgraded as well. Kratos no longer uses the chained double blades that made him a God slayer (he famously lost them at the end of God Of War III), and will now wield a battleaxe and a bow and arrow.

For now, check out some of the gameplay footage shown originally at E3 to get your Kratos and son fix until the game releases.
