Google Launches A Phone Recommendation Tool

1 min read

Sometime over the last few days, Google launched their own recommendation service aimed at getting you into the “perfect” Android device. The service, which is being lovingly referred to as “which phone,” has users go through and answer a set of questions about the usage and expectations of their new device. From there, you can choose between an existing carrier (That is, if you don’t plan on switching services), or filter into a specific carrier, or even all of them (If you are looking to switch).

This tool is an excellent thing for relatively new smartphone users who don’t really know what they want, or are just basic to moderate users. If you’re a power user, don’t expect to be blown away by the depth at which the phone suggests phones for you. They basically take the things you ask for (Good quality photos, High storage capacity, etc, etc) and compare the phones that match those specs. In essence, it’s the same tool you’d find on just about any carrier website minus the reviews. Having actual user reviews would’ve proven to be helpful in the long run, and maybe it’ll come in future versions of the tool. For now, head on over to the Which Phone site and see how it work out for you.
