It’s finally official. Google announced late Friday that they will indeed be having a special event on September 29th, and we’ll more than likely see new Nexus devices announced then. Rumors about the latest Nexus phone(s) met a fever pitch as of last month as many Nexus faithful were treated to the news we were all waiting to hear. LG is once again back in the fold, making a Nexus device that could be better than their last great phone the Nexus 5. In addition to the LG model, will be a second device made by Huawei, which will maintain the large screen format of the Nexus 6.

We can also expect to be treated to more details on the latest version of Android (6.0) and how it’ll be integrated into the new devices. Google has emphasized that there will be enhanced focus on fingerprint readers, USB Type C connectors, an improved camera system (FINALLY), and heightened Google integration within the device.

According to Droid Life, the new devices will be named the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P respectively, and will bring with them a slew of new hardware advances. The Nexus 5X will be made by LG and will reportedly feature a 5.2 inch 1080p display, Quad Core Snapdragon 808 processor with 2GB of RAM, and a 12.3 MP rear camera with a 5MP front camera. The Huawei model will be the 6P and will feature a larger 5.7 inch 2K display with a Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM with a 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera.

Google is also expected to announce a new Chromecast at the event to round out their event. We’ll be providing updates from the event on September 29th, so make sure you check back for all the latest!
