More Bad News For RIM

As if things didn’t already look bleak for RIM, this little doozy could turn out to be flat out disastrous. The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency has just announced plans to pull some 17,600 Blackberry smartphones, and convert them to iPhones. Reuters reported that the agency is quoted as saying, “RIM could no longer meet the mobile technology needs of the agency”. Ouch. So now, not only has the Blackberry brand lost the consumer market, it is slowly and meticulously being ripped apart in the corporate sector as well. I’m not a gloom and doom type of guy, but with all this rampant RIM trashing going on as of late, I’m not even sure that the as of yet unreleased Blackberry 10 OS can save the floundering company at this point.

What do you guys think? Is this for sure the end of RIM as we know it?
