Motor City Comic Con Fall Edition Preview

The Motor City Comic Con will occur at the Suburban Show Place Collection from Friday, November 10th to Sunday, November 12th. This highly anticipated event will showcase some of the biggest names in film and pop culture and a solid lineup of comic creators, artists, vendors, and exhibitors. I’m excited to attend the convention and experience all the fantastic events and attractions that it has to offer.

The list of celebrity guests includes fan favorites from major franchises, past and present. Stars from the 80’s like Robocop’s Peter Weller and The Karate Kid’s Ralph Macchio and William Zabka will appear alongside AEW’s Danhausen and David Harbour from Stranger Things. The diversity of guests and exhibitors has long been one of Motor City Comic Con’s biggest strengths and this year’s show will be no different.

I’m looking forward to visiting Artist Alley and checking out some of the many unique comics and creators. One of the coolest things about any comic con is seeing and interacting with the creatives behind the next big comic franchise. One thing that Motor City Comic Con does VERY well, is having a large and diverse collection of those creatives at each show. In addition to the artists and creators in attendance, there’s also usually a solid contingent of vendors and special attractions to keep everyone busy.

The cosplay contest happens at the end of day 2, and I’m also looking forward to checking out some of the best and most creative costumes present at the con. There’s been a swath of horror movies and anime releases over the last several months, and as such, I’m expecting to see tons of awesome cosplayers out and about. With the recent release of the Five Nights At Freddy’s movie, I think there’s going to be several animatronics wandering the show floor, along with a decent smattering of Cobra Kai and Robocop. If previous years are any indicator, anime characters will once again dominate the ratio of cosplays as Motor City Comic Con usually always boasts a decent roster of voice actors on its guest list.

All in all, the Fall edition of Motor City Comic Con should once again be an excellent event to attend, and we’re looking forward to taking in all of the sights and sounds the weekend will offer us.
