Stranger Things Season 3 Release Date Revealed

2 min read

The release date for season 3 of Stranger Things has finally been revealed. Netflix released a second teaser trailer for the new season of the show and in it, a July 4th date for its debut. While the teaser doesn’t reveal very many details about the upcoming plot, it’s still chock full of easter eggs the most eagled eyed viewers will recognize.

The trailer features a clip from the 1985 edition of Dick Clark’s “Rockin New Years Eve.” The clip itself almost immediately begins to malfunction, and there’s several Command Prompt screens overlaying information spliced into the feed. One screen references “When Blue and Yellow meet in the West,” while another one mentions a program called “Silver Cat.” Of course the biggest reveal comes at the very end, where the Command Prompt screen switches from July 4th, 1985 to July 4th, 2019. Effectively revealing the release date for season 3 of Stranger Things.

We already know a few small details about season three, specifically that there’ll be a new mall setting, and Carey Elwes will play a really bad dude. When we last left Eleven, Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin, and Max they’d just vanquished a ton of Demo Dogs and a mega Demogorgon, while trying to adjust to normal everyday life. As we all know, things are never truly normal after a giant, alien invasion, and the threat was immediately teased again at the end of season two.

Check out the teaser trailer for season three of ‘Stranger Things’ and get ready to head back to the “Upside Down” on July 4th!
