The Walking Dead Comic Con Poster Preps Us For ‘All Out War’

San Diego Comic Con usually brings us the first look at the newest season of hit TV series ‘The Walking Dead.’ AMC revealed the first look at the official poster for Season 8, and it looks to be pretty intense. The poster, highlights the impending conflict between Rick’s group and The Saviors, led by Negan. In the comics, this story arc is one of the most deadly as it leads to several casualties on both sides. Never one to shy away from a good, dramatic death, I’m sure AMC will be upping the ante, when the series returns in October.

Season 7 of The Walking Dead was marred by harsh criticisms of the over the top gore, and was hit with a small decline in viewership as well. Many fans threatened to stop watching the show after the season premiere, where we saw two of our favorite characters meet the business end of Negan’s weapon of choice, a barbed wire bat he named Lucille. While I thought the seventh season was great, many fans expressed displeasure at the direction of the story, saying it was as slow as the last time the show saw a ratings drop – which was all the way back in season two.

I’m excited for season 8 personally, because it contains some of my favorite moments from the comic book. I’m hoping we’ll get to see these moments recreated for the show, but Kirkman and gang have been known to change deaths and circumstances around them to keep fans of the comics off the trail from key TV story plots. The Walking Dead is slated to have their annual cast panel at San Diego Comic Con this Friday, and with it will usually come a brand new trailer for the upcoming season. We’ll have to wait until then for more details, but for now enjoy the season 8 teaser poster below.
