This Is Robert Downey Jr Being Calmly Pissed Off

2 min read

They say that the best weapon is the one you never have to fire. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to fire once. – Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark

During a press junket day for good ole Robert Downey Jr, he was all set to promote the latest chapter in the Avengers series when things took a turn for the worst. The interview was actually going really well at first, with Robert Downey Jr giving really solid, intellectual answers about the both the Avengers and Iron Man franchises. It’s when the reporter, Channel 4 in London’s Krishnan Guru-Murthy started asking non-relevant questions that the interview started to get really chippy. First, Guru-Murthy asked RDJ about his time in prison, then the questions shifted to asking about Downey’s relationship with his father.

Right after the first off-the-wall question, you can see that RDJ is visibly irritated and starts to stir in his chair. Thirty seconds later, he’s gone from irritated to agitated, and then into full blown pissed off mode. I have to hand it to Downey though, as he kept his cool and didn’t spaz on the reporter (which I feel like this slime ball was hoping for), and simply ended the interview.

This is the side of journalism that I absolutely despise. Sure, Downey has a bit of a checkered past, but there was absolutely no room in this setting for those types of questions to be asked. In the end, I’m glad to see RDJ took the high road and chose tom simply not entertain this clown. We’ve embedded the interview below so you can see cool-as-a-cucumber RDJ take Guru-Murthy’s questions and blow them away with poise as concentrated as a Repulsor blast from Mark V.
