Verizon Reveals New Promo Aimed Directly At T-Mobile Customers

2 min read

Up until this point, T-Mobile has had virtually no response from America’s two largest wireless carriers in regards to T-Mobile’s switcher promos. You know, the one where T-Mobile promises to pay up to $650 per line that you switch? The one that played 92 times during football yesterday? Yeah those.

On Monday, Verizon announced a similar incentive aimed at moving customers that switched, back to their network. They’re calling it the “No Regrets” promo, and they’re essentially doing the same thing as T-Mobile, offering customers up to $650 to switch to Verizon. The “up to” part from the promo essentially depends on how your current carrier has you locked down. According to the press release posting from Verizon, you’d only snag the full $650 with the trade in of your current smartphone and a prepaid visa minus the trade in value of said device if on an installment plan. If you signed a two year contract, you’d get a credit on a prepaid visa minus the trade in value of your device up to $350 (Usually the value of an early termination fee).

Verizon seems to be fairly confident that this offer will bring customers back after switching to another carrier. Verizon claims that 87 percent of T-Mobile customers and 86 percent of Sprint customers switch back to Verizon within six months of leaving, citing network quality and performance as the reason for coming back. If this is true, Verizon will make a killing with customers looking to switch back on to the network, especially if they’re willing to pay to bring them back.
