WWE Elimination Chamber Predictions

5 min read
John Cena Elimination Chamber

Tonight is the night! We’re officially on the Road To Wrestlemania, and Smackdown gets the first at bat. Elimination Chamber will serve as the launching pad for Smackdown’s Wrestlemania plans, and I’m sure we’ll get a swerve or two during the PPV. The WWE, Women’s, and Tag Titles are all up for grabs tonight, as well as a few singles matches thrown in for garnish. Let’s check out the card, and see who I think will be walking out victorious.

Kickoff Show: Curt Hawkins v Mojo Rawley

The battle of Zack Ryder’s tag partners is set to commence tonight. This match is one of two highly irrelevant matches on the card tonight and for that reason alone I’d say nobody actually wins. If I had to put my money on one person over the other though, I’d have to say Mojo walks away with the win tonight.

Winner: Mojo Rawley

Becky Lynch v Mickie James

This match and rivalry has been built beautifully and could impact future title contendership. Becky and Mickie James have an obvious reason to dislike each other seeing as how the former cost the latter a title match a few weeks ago. Since then, the two have had several run ins either through tag matches, or interference in singles matches. Tonight, we’ll finally get to these two ladies get it on in the ring. I don’t expect this rivalry to be over just yet though, and because of that I think Mickie James will get the win.

Winner: Mickie James

Apollo Crews & Kalisto v Dolph Ziggler

Remember me saying there were two irrelevant matches on tonight’s card? Well, welcome to the second one. I understand the reasoning behind it as Dolph has been a thorn in both Crews and Kalisto’s side as of late, but the booking makes zero sense to the storyline. In fact, if I were a new viewer, I’d assume Crews and Kalisto were the bad guys seeing as how they have been given an unfair advantage. Ziggler is the heel here, and he’s been put in yet another underdog overcomes the odds type of storyline. If Ziggler wins, he’ll in the process bury both his adversaries, but if Crews and Kalisto win, it’s poor Dolph that’ll get the short end of the stick. Again. I don’t care who wins this match, but I’m gonna give the win to Dolph via DQ

Winner: Dolph Ziggler via Disqualification

Nikki Bella v Natalya

I can’t say enough about this feud. I can appreciate how they’ve taken two of the stars from Total Divas and built a tv-like feud out of a wrestling storyline. Nattie and Nikki have been cutting pipe bomb like promos on each other since this thing began, and the spot where Nattie usually falters (her promos are usually the worst), she’s done nothing but shine. I think Nikki’s in-ring career may be winding down, and if so, I’d love to see her go out putting over one of the most underrated talents in the Women’s division.

Winner: Natalya

Tag Team Turmoil Match For The Tag Titles: American Alpha (C) v The Usos v The Vaudevillains v The Ascension v Breezango v Heath Slater & Rhyno

I like American Alpha. They are crazy talented in the ring, and have a really bright future ahead of them. That being said, GET THE TITLES OFF THEM. Maybe it’s just me, but American Alpha and their tag title run has been a dud so far. Maybe they haven’t had the titles long enough, or maybe they haven’t faced the right team – Either way, I’m already over them. The problem though, is that Smackdown doesn’t have an exceptional tag team in the division yet, and American Alpha are the best they have to offer for right now. This match has the potential to be one of the best matches of the night, but I have a feeling it’ll be a hodge-podge of spots and nothing more.

Winners: American Alpha

Randy Orton v Luke Harper

The new favorite vs the forgotten son. The battle of Bray Wyatt’s brethren happens tonight, and I’m super excited for it. Luke Harper could be seen as a major player as a face in the singles division, and he’ll get his first major test against the Viper. Smart money is on Randy Orton winning thanks to some interference from Wyatt. Don’t expect that to be the end of it though…. Wyatt, Orton, and Harper will all be winners tonight.

Winner: Randy Orton

Women’s Title Match: Alexa Bliss (C) v Naomi

Alexa Bliss is red-hot as the Smackdown Women’s Champ. She’s been doing some Grade-A heel work, as well as putting on solid matches since capturing the title at TLC in December. Naomi, in my opinion, is overdue for not only a title shot but a decent run with the Women’s title. She’s easily one of the most athletic women in the division, and has a connection with the fans that could prove to be beneficial to her in the long run. Both women are extremely talented, and if all goes well this could be the second best match of the night.

Winner: Alexa Bliss

Elimination Chamber Match For The WWE Title: The Miz v Dean Ambrose v Baron Corbin v Bray Wyatt v AJ Styles v John Cena

This match obviously has the biggest implications on where Smackdown will be heading in the next few weeks. John Cena is currently tied with Ric Flair having held the title 16 times in their careers. Cena heads into this match as Champ, but all signs are pointing to him dropping the title to set up a separate program for Mania. AJ Styles appears to be headed towards a program with Shane McMahon or a mystery opponent so he definitely won’t be winning. Baron Corbin and Dean Ambrose will more than likely face off for the IC Title after the Chamber, and The Miz will be entrenched in another high-profile feud at Mania. This match will be a category five barn burner, with plenty of surprising eliminations and maybe even a shocking swerve, but the biggest moment of the night will come from the finish of this match. It’s my belief that the final two men in the ring will be AJ Styles and Bray Wyatt, and we’ll see Wyatt snag the victory after an assist from none other than…… Luke Harper. I think Harper will be so incensed at Wyatt helping Orton win earlier in the night, that he’ll help Bray win this match which Bray will be incredibly excited for, until he realizes that Randy Orton won the Royal Rumble. This will set up Bray’s first World Title reign and the often rumored Orton v Wyatt match at Wrestlemania.

Winner: Bray Wyatt
