He’s coming…
Entertainment Weekly debuted the first sneak peek at Pennywise the Dancing Clown from next year’s remake of the famous Stephen King novel, It. Bill Skarsgard, from Hemlock Grove will play the creepy clown. For those who are unfamiliar with the novel, Pennywise is the physical manifestation of an abstract ruthless and evil entity that dwells in a small town of Derry and feeds on those fear and those that fear him. Tim Curry scared the ever-living jeebus out of me and many other children in the 1990 TV movie as Pennywise. Now, It’s Skarsgard’s turn to step up and fill those awkwardly giant clown shoes. While the main story will be similar to the original novel, this new rendition of the monster promises to be different. The new film will only tell a part of the original 1986 novel, as it will only follow the main characters when they are children. There is a planned sequel which will revisit the children when they have come home to visit as adults. Clowns have gotten a bad rap and it’s only going to get worse. It is expected to debut in theaters September 8th, 2017.
