Fortnite Launching New ‘Ballistic’ 5V5 Mode This Week

1 min read

Fortnite is launching a brand-new gameplay mode in early access starting Dec. 11th. The mode will be called “Ballistic” and will feature 5-on-5 battles and a first-person camera view. It will also feature round-based ranked and unranked matches.

In Ballistic, players will be sorted into two teams of 5, with one team being “attackers” and the other “defenders.” The Attackers will work together to plant a Rift Point Device at one of two designated sites on the map, while the defenders attempt to stop them. There are no respawns, and a round ends when a RPD is detonated, or an entire team has been eliminated.

If you’re a fan of Rainbow Six Siege, then you should be familiar with this new mode. It’s designed to appeal to those who prefer a more tactical, objective-based experience. The mode will launch with the Skyline 10 map, limited weapons, and items, but more will be added later.

Ballistic launches in early access on December 11th, and if you want the full rundown before it drops, head on over to the official Fortnite Blog
