The month of October is in the books so it’s time to turn our attention to the holiday season and buy our friends and family the most frivolous of gifts. More importantly though, it’s the time of year to decide what new games are going to consume your life for the next 6 months. There’s a ton of new games coming out, including the highly anticipated Fallout 4. For me, the choice has been narrowed down between Call Of Duty, or Star Wars Battlefront. On November 6th the new installment of Call of Duty hits the shelves with Black Ops III and then 11 days later on November 17th Star Wars Battlefront makes its debut on the next-gen consoles.

The Treyarch developed Call of Duty: Black Ops III keeps its usual November release date and hopes to match the success of its predecessors. Black Ops III comes loaded with a whole new campaign that 4 players can tackle at once as well tweaks to the multiplayer system. The most intriguing addition to the multiplayer is the new Specialist character system which gives you several different characters to choose from with unique looks and weapons. It adds a personalization touch which previous Call of Duty games have been lacking. No Treyarch developed version would be complete without the addition of zombies and Black Ops III is taking Zombies to a new level with a full progression experience based system giving you a game within the game and adding more re-playability.

We are a little over a month away before the new Star Wars movie hits the theatre and just one month before that Star Wars Battlefront will be released on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. This version will be a bit different from those that have released in the past. Battlefront and new developer DICE have grand expectations for the historic franchise. DICE is most notably known for their work in the Battlefield series and EA has entrusted them to make the world of Star Wars come to life on your console. The new Battlefront game pits the rebels and empire soldiers in some of the iconic battles that take place in the films. Star Wars Battlefront will allow players to participate in some galactic dogfights, ride a speeder bike through the forests of Endor, and even play as some of your favorite characters from the movies.

Both games should provide hours of entertainment and easy for the casual or hardcore gamer alike to get the most out of their purchase. So it’s time to contract a rare disease and call work or school and tell them you’ll be gone for at least the next four weeks to make sure you can maximize your time with both games. Which game are you going to buy? Let us know in the comments section, or via our Twitter Poll.
