The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword Headed To Nintendo Switch This Summer
1 min readNintendo unveiled a Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword remaster during their Nintendo Direct event. The classic Legend Of Zelda adventure will be remade in HD for the Nintendo Switch and will release this Summer. Skyward Sword first debuted on the Nintendo Wii back in 2011, and heavily implemented the Wii’s Nunchuck for controls. It was the first game to dive into the origins of the Master Sword, a staple weapon in all Legend Of Zelda games. Skyward Sword was both critically and commercially successful, winning several awards after it was released. It was the last major console Legend Of Zelda game before Breath Of The Wild debuted on the Nintendo Switch in 2017.
The Skyward Sword remaster will be playable for both standard Switch and Switch Lite owners, with the Switch Lite version getting a few control tweaks. For example, instead of using the Nunchuck for sword controls, Switch Lite users will simply move the right analog stick in accordance with the type of strike they want to execute with the sword. Traditional Switch owners will get the standard experience, and an awesome collectors edition of Skyward Sword as well. Within the collector’s edition will be a pretty badass joy-con set, with one joy-con themed to look like the Master Sword, and another themed to resemble the Hylian shield.
The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword remaster drops for Nintendo Switch July 16th. Pre-orders are open right now on the Nintendo eshop.
