Cody Rhodes Has Booked His First Post-WWE Match

Keeping up with his promise to continue to wrestle, Cody Rhodes first match outside of WWE has been booked. It’ll be a pretty major match too, as it’ll be against none other than Kurt Angle. Angle is one of the most respected wrestlers in the game, and will no doubt give Cody Rhodes the match of his life. The match will take place on August 27th, for indie wrestling promotion Northeast Wrestling.

The event will no doubt draw a pretty solid crowd as this is the first time these two have ever faced off. Rhodes recently tweeted a picture of a list with the caption “After 8/19.” The list contained names of several wrestlers that I’m assuming Rhodes wants to wrestle. Some of the names on the list included Ring Of Honor standouts Adam Cole and Roderick Strong, NJPW Star Shibata, and Kurt Angle. It’ll be really interesting to see if Cody continues to take indie bookings all summer, or if he’ll eventually find a home with one of the smaller promotions.
