Everything You Need To Know About Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10

Samsung officially unveiled its new Galaxy Note 10 devices during their “Unpacked” event today. Many long-standing rumors were finally confirmed, while Samsung also verified a few remaining mysteries surrounding the device as well. From a professional standpoint, these may very well be the most powerful devices Samsung has produced to date. Personally, I was left feeling a bit underwhelmed. Feelings aside, here’s everything you need to know about Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+.

For starters, there are TWO Note models this year. The smaller phone is the standard Note 10, while the bigger, beefier model is the Note 10+. There are several differences between the two, and most of them are geared to help move the power users more towards the Galaxy Note 10+. The standard Note 10 has 256GB of memory onboard and sports 8GB of RAM. The Note 10+ will be available with 8 or 12GB of RAM, alongside 256 or 512GB storage configurations. Neither phone will have a headphone jack, and the Note 10+ will be the only model that has an SD slot.

The Galaxy Note 10 will fully embrace the more boxy design that the Note 9 employed last year. The biggest difference here is that the Galaxy Note 10 goes even boxier while shrinking the bezels even further. The screen runs almost the entirety of the front of the phone, making full use of Samsung’s gorgeous OLED panels. The hole-punch camera that debuted with the Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10+ is also getting a slight redesign. It now sits front and center in the middle of the display, again leaving no interference between you and that Samsung panel.

Speaking of the displays, here is where the other subtle yet potentially big difference between the two models occurs. The Galaxy Note 10 has a 6.3′ 1080P display, while the Galaxy Note 10+ rocks a 6.8′ 1440P display. Both are insanely bright and gorgeous, but gamers and multitaskers will no doubt be immediately drawn towards the Note 10+.

The cameras are getting a bump in tech on the new Note models as well. Ironically enough, both phones will feature 4 cameras instead of the 5 that are present on the Galaxy S10+. There will now only be one camera on the front, while the rear of the phone will still maintain 3 cameras. There’s a 16MP Ultra-Wide angle camera, a 12MP wide-angle camera, and a 12MP telephoto camera. On the front of the Note lies a 10MP selfie camera. The Note 10+ will also get additional sensors which will give it better video stabilization, and the ability to add live focus (Bokeh effect) while shooting video.

Both models of the Galaxy Note 10 are available to reserve on Samsung’s website and will be available for pre-order through carriers beginning Aug. 8th. The Galaxy Note 10 will start at $949 and the Galaxy Note 10+ will start at $1099. They will both be available in White, Black, and Aura Glow. The Galaxy Note 10+ will also be available in an exclusive Aura Blue variant as well.
