Letter From The Editor: SDCC Preview Night
2 min readAs we kick off the 2022 edition of San Diego Comic-Con, attendees will have the chance to check out some of the show’s highlights a day early. Preview Night is always a coveted day for all SDCC attendees. It affords you the ability to get a jump on scoring some sweet exclusives and scope out where everything is located before the crowds get too insane.
The latter is crucial, as it’s effortless to get overwhelmed and disoriented during comic con. Finding your way around massively helps if you’re planning on attending panels or exclusive signings. Time is of the essence here, and if there’s one thing that I’ve learned, it’s that you can NEVER be too early for anything. It’s sometimes easy to forget the sheer number of people that will attend the show between Thursday and Sunday, and most of the time, those panels and signings fill up fast. So, if you’re attending, build a plan, then build a plan B, and for the love of God, use your calendar and reminder apps!
Another thing to remember: Hydration is key. I’m not talking about coffee, Red Bull, and Monsters… Actually drinking water will help you more than you think. While the weather here in San Diego is typically beautiful, it’s also relatively easy to absolutely crush your step goal, and close those rings on your Apple Watch. With that in mind, drink your water, take breaks, and avoid the inevitable mid-day crash that comes with caffeine overload.
Lastly, SDCC is like Nerd Mecca. A pilgrimage for the most dedicated fans, filled with once-in-a-lifetime possibilities. So be sure to, above all else, HAVE FUN! Everyone will be waiting in some sort of line, and everyone will be exhausted. But to be around this much spectacularly amazing content and collectibles is why we’re all here. To be able to distract ourselves from the craziness of everyday life, and enjoy some of our favorite fandoms with thousands of other nerds like us…
Enjoy the show!
