Ronda Rousey Will Compete On WWE’s European Tour In May
2 min readAfter making a moderately well received debut at Wrestlemania 34, Ronda Rousey will join the WWE’s live European Tour in May. The European tour is typically one of the WWE’s most grueling due to the insane amount of travel involved. So far, she’s scheduled to join the rest of the roster on May 16th in Geneva, Switzerland, May 17th in Vienna, Austria, May 18th in Turin, Italy, and May 19th in Paris, France.
Her opponents have yet to be announced, but I’d have to imagine she’ll be working with female talent that will make her look good. While her performance at Wrestlemania was solid, it was evident that she still has a long way to go. Much of her visible weaknesses were protected by the fact that she was working a tag match with three other established veterans. I have a sneaky suspicion that a singles match at this point, could wind up exposing exactly how green(new) she truly is to the world of pro wrestling.
Either way, this is a pretty big step forward for those who plan on attending any of these shows as Rousey still remains a pretty big draw. I’m sure WWE will capitalize on this and make sure Rousey is able to amplify her legend on this tour. It’s been speculated that the planned main event for Wrestlemania 35 will be Ronda Rousey Vs Charlotte. If that’s truly the case, then WWE will be sure to build Rousey up as a legitimate threat to Charlotte’s reign, especially considering Charlotte was the woman to end Asuka’s nearly 3 year undefeated streak.
Be that as it may, Rousey still has one hell of a mountain to climb considering how loaded the women’s roster is right now. I for one, am excited at one of her first big challenges being in the form of her “Four Horsewomen Of MMA” stablemate, Shayna Baszler. That feud could potentially steal the show at ANY future WWE PPV. For now, expect to see Rousey pick up some clean wins as she continues to perfect the craft of sports entertainment.
