Apple Just Doesn’t Innovate Anymore

Sure, the iPhone is a great phone. It may very well be one of the best phones you can buy. Don’t let the marketing hype fool you though. Apple doesn’t out innovate anyone, in fact they may be guilty of the exact opposite. Apple likes to sit within the realm of comfort, using “older” innovations from Silicon Valley that have since been perfected, and dropping them into the iPhone and iPad. This doesn’t make Apple innovative at all, especially considering most of the design cues that will be available on their new phones have been widely available on higher end Android devices for the last 8 months. What Apple does better than anybody else, is invoke an emotional response to their products. Their ads make you feel as if you’re truly missing out by not having an iPad or iPhone. It’s that feeling that creates the illusion of innovation, and it makes Apple look like stars in that space. They are totally the kings of integration, but they haven’t been great at innovating for years.
