Three Things That Make NXT So Great
4 min readThe Talent From NXT Is A Who’s Who Of Indie Stars
I once had a friend ask me, “How’d NXT get so good?” I couldn’t immediately answer him, but once I started talking about some of my favorite moments and wrestlers on the NXT roster, the answer became abundantly clear. NXT is consistently good, because they have poached some of the best talent from around the world and integrated them into the system. Roddy Strong, Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish, Kairi Sane, Aleister Black, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, and Ruby Riot. These were all names that less than two years ago were tearing it up on the independent scene. Everybody wants to have that Wrestlemania moment, and this is the bait that’s used to pull your favorite star off their perches and into an NXT ring. These stars become the building blocks for world title reigns within NXT and high-profile feuds with home-grown NXT talent. So not only are the top stars being pulled from the indies, but these same stars are helping to develop WWE’s hand-picked performers. There’s no end in sight either, as WWE has a knack for finding talent, and they have the pockets deep enough to steal any star from any promotion.
