Sound Brewery Will Launch A Mortal Kombat Inspired Series Of Beer!

Sound Brewery in Poulsbo, Washington has got the green light from Warner Bros., to create three Mortal Kombat X inspired beers.  Mortal Kombat X was the ever popular 2015 release of the intensely violent fighting game.  The beer is said to be bold and match the characters they are named after.  Here are the three”Kharacters”  you can choose from and their description as described in the official press release:

Sub Zero Imperial IPA- Refreshingly cooling on a warm day, an Imperial India Pale Ale that’s not all about the hops or the malt but is a whole lot of both fighting it out for your palate’s supremacy.  Drink icy for more of the hops or warmer for more malt.

Raiden Imperial Saison- This amped up Imperial Saison has a blast of hops and CO2 that will hit your tongue with a bang.  The aroma jumps out of the glass with its earthly and herbal notes not far behind.

Scorpion Imperial Stout- A unique blend for great Imperial Stout brings both fire and ice into your glass.  The fiery southwest chilies and cooling Madagascar Vanilla Bean pair nicely with the exotic notes produced by our own yeast strain.

These limited release craft-style beers will be available in 22oz bottles which will be distributed exclusively by Global Beverage Traders.   While Mortal Kombat is not the first video game franchise to have their own brews, they do join some heavy hitters such as  Fallout 4 and Call of Duty.  Bethesda’s Fallout 4 was the first to have its own officially licensed brew and it came with a die-hard fan price of about $46 a 12-pack!  It will be interesting to see how Mortal Kombat will stand up to the competition and how much it will “fatality” the wallet.
