Disney Is Making A Star Wars Themed Hotel
2 min readDisney’s D23 Expo unearthed a ton of goodies from several of their biggest franchises this past weekend. In what was potentially the biggest announcement from the Expo, was the unveiling of a Star Wars themed hotel, set to open in 2019. The hotel is being billed as an “immersive experience” meaning guests will essentially be treated to a Star Wars version of West World.
Disney is saying that all “cast members” will be in costume and in character. This means once you’re in there, there will be no breaking of character. All guests will also apparently be given a specific storyline that’s designed to “touch every single minute of your day.” If I had to imagine what this means, I’d assume attending this hotel will be the adventure of a lifetime (or at least a weekend). The entire hotel is supposed to be taking place in space, and as such, images of outer space will be projected onto your windows. Basically, it’ll look, feel, and sound exactly like you’re in another galaxy far, far, away.
The hotel is destined for the Florida Disney World location, so California won’t be getting the love this time. If the hotel proves to be a success (who are we kidding, of course it will), then I’m sure Disney will throw some cash down to bring it to Cali. Check out a few renders of what the hotel will look like below, and let us know what you think about it in the comments!
