Sony Is Increasing The Price Of The PS5 In Europe, Japan, And Other Markets
1 min readInflation has come for every company, across several industries, and it was only a matter of time before the gaming industry was affected. Sony is the latest company to shuffle its hardware prices in response to rising production costs. In a blog post, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that they would raise the price of the PS5 across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Canada. There will be no price increase in the US at the moment.
Sony likely made this decision in response to continued supply chain shortages and increasing costs associated with computing components. There is no sign of an immediate change, so consumers will continue to feel the pinch as most of the global economy continues to battle inflation.
