Andy Rubin Steps Down As Android Director
1 min readBy Rob Boggan
Google CEO Larry Page announced an official reshuffling within the walls of Google today. Former Android boss Andy Rubin will be moving on to a different role within Google itself, while head of Chrome OS Sundar Pichai will move into Rubin’s old spot in addition to his current duties. With Pichai already heading much of the day to day with Chrome and Chrome OS, one has to wonder if eventually Google will marry Chrome and Android into one massive powerhouse OS. As for Andy Rubin, there has been no official word on what his new role will be, but I’d have to imagine he’s going to be an integral part of moving Google and its experimental products forward.
