Dr. Who 50th Anniversary Special Details

Ok, I’ll be the first to admit it. I’m a Dr. Who newbie. I only just started watching the show because my wife and 4 year old son thoroughly enjoy it. With that being said, the show and the character has totally grown on me and now I’m hooked. I just came across the teaser trailer for the 50th Anniversary episode of the show entitled, “The Day Of The Doctor”, and I have to admit, I’m pretty excited for it. The 10th Doctor will be making a return in the special, along with my favorite villains The Daleks, and shape shifting aliens known as Zygons. The Daleks have had a pretty solid recurring role in the new show, but the Zygons haven’t been seen since 1975(see Classic Dr. Who).

To add to the awesomeness of the 50th anniversary celebration, it will be shown in select movie theaters IN 3D in the US. That’s right kiddos, you’ll be able to digest some Dr. Who in an actual theater in 3D. There’s even a pretty sweet theater locator that shows where you can go to watch the special. There are still dates being added so make sure you keep checking it, and once there is a theater in your area, it’ll be accented by a TARDIS on the map.
