Google Reader Bites The Dust
1 min readBy Rob Boggan
As part of Google’s continued effort to provide their most current, cutting edge offerings, Google has decided to drop Google Reader. Reader is quite possibly one of Google’s most popular services, and at this point I’m still a bit confused as to why it’s getting the axe. Reader debuted back in 2005 as a simple RSS reader that allowed users to read all their favorite online content in one place. Since then, Google reader has been prominently featured in several Google offerings, including it’s Android mobile OS. While its maintained a solid user base, overall Reader usage has declined, and along with several other Google offerings will be put to rest starting July 1st.
