Google Nexus Q: Now Streaming

Today Google introduced it’s latest crazy invention, and it’s called the Nexus Q. No, it’s not a new Nexus phone, or the Google Tablet, it’s actually a social media streaming device powered by Android 4.1(Jellybean) and it’s aimed at those who like to share. The premise behind the Nexus Q is actually quite simple, the small orb-like device, acts as a pass through for the Google Play store and YouTube. Connected to the cloud, the Nexus Q essentially pulls things right from Google Play and streams them into your HDTV or wireless stereo speakers. Able to be controlled with Android devices, the Q has a very interesting setup, and the social aspect allows the device to be even more flexible while entertaining guests. While rocking out with your newly acquired Nexus Q, your friends with Android devices would have the ability to push their own Google Music collection right into the music Queue for a seamless experience and constant streaming. The only downside, for now at least, is the fact that content MUST originate from the Google Play store, so no Netflix or Hulu support for now. Available for preorder starting today, those looking to snag a Nexus Q can snag one for $299 right through the Google Play Store.

Check out the video of the Nexus Q in action, and let us know what you think!
