First Trailer For Batman The Telltale Series Is Here And It’s Awesome
2 min readTelltale Games most long-awaited projects since they picked up The Walking Dead Franchise, made its debut ahead of Comic Con today. ‘Batman – The Telltale series’ received the trailer treatment today, and I have to admit it looks pretty awesome. In typical Telltale fashion, players will take control of Bruce Wayne/Batman and guide him through a dark and gritty version of Gotham City. As Batman, you’ll be forced to deal with corruption, crime, and your own conscience as your decisions will directly affect the storyline, good or bad.
In the trailer, we hear Alfred talking to Bruce Wayne about hanging up the cape and cowl for fear of his safety. Bruce himself apparently wants out of the game as well and wants to exit by appointing tough on crime defense attorney Harvey Dent to help finish cleaning up the corrupt Gotham City. The main conflict comes into play when the head of the biggest crime family in Gotham also tries to make a play for Harvey Dent. Rest assured as the game progresses we’ll be treated to more of Batman’s arch-rivals and some sweet comic goodness as well. The trailer showcased a few glimpses of Catwoman, but I’m really hoping to see Two-Face and Joker interjected into this game. Imagine being faced with going after the Joker or saving a family from a building rigged to explode. These are the types of moral conundrums you’ll be faced with, and the type of decisions Telltale is so good at exploring.
The game itself has already been rated ‘M for Mature’ so expect the guys at Telltale to hold nothing back when it comes to telling this story. Episode One has been titled ‘Realm Of Shadows’ and will be available for download on mobile phones and digitally on consoles beginning August 2nd. Speaking of consoles, there will be a season pass disc released on September 13th to ensure gamers will get each and every new episode as they release.
