Marvel’s Iron Fist And Defenders SDCC Teaser Trailers

In their continued campaign to totally monopolize my viewing time, Marvel and Netflix unveiled the first teaser trailer for Iron Fist at SDCC. Iron Fist will star Finn Jones as Danny Rand, a child who is adopted by members of the K’un-L’un after his parents die in an accident during his youth. Rand is then taught the ways of Kung-Fu, and eventually becomes endowed with the mythical powers of the Iron Fist.

While the trailer doesn’t give away too much, I am really excited to see the show is moving along in development. It’ll be really interesting to see what Marvel and Netflix does with this continually growing, increasingly connected TV universe they’re creating. With Daredevil and Jessica Jones already in the mix, and Luke Cage making his debut in September, one would have to imagine that a Defenders series is right around the corner as well. The Defenders series will serve to unite Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage together to face their most massive battle yet. Iron Fist will be up first, with his series debuting on Netflix in 2016, while the Defenders will begin to air sometime in 2017
