This Is The iPhone 8
2 min readIt’s that time of year again. Summer is in full swing, the weather is nice, and iPhone leaks start to roll out in droves. This latest leak is a bit more than just a render though. It appears we may be getting our first look at the upcoming iPhone 8 from Apple. Noted leaker OnLeaks published a few images on his Twitter feed a few short hours ago, and the design appears to be the final look for Apple’s upcoming device. The phone is question is probably nothing more than a high quality dummy device, but nonetheless a final look at the production ready version. OnLeaks is usually very solid with his device reveals, so I have no reason to doubt the authenticity of the photos.
If you ask me, it looks stunning and feels so good in hands… As for the rear camera bump, you can’t judge by such a close up videos… 😉 pic.twitter.com/CIcLVmBTMX

Apple has been rumored to be completely changing up the look of the iPhone for the next release, and they most certainly accomplished that. For starters, the most glaring change on the iPhone 8 is obviously the large, pronounced camera hump on the back. Apple seemingly were slimming down the camera hump on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, but the 8 brings it back with a vengeance. The phone also appears to retain the dual camera set-up from the iPhone 7 Plus, only this time the orientation has been flipped. The cameras are arranged in a vertical layout on the left side of the phone, versus the old horizontal layout across the top. On the front of the phone, the home button has been completely removed, but likely relocated to underneath the touch screen like on Samsung’s Galaxy S8.

Other rumored specs include a new Apple A10X chip, wireless inductive charging, and a 3D or AR sensing front facing camera. The phone is slated to go on sale in October, just one month later than the usual September release.
