Now That We Have Balor Club, What’s Next?

2 min read

Last night, during the first Monday Night RAW of 2018, the WWE Universe got to see the reunion we’ve all been clamoring for. Finn Balor and his long-time buds Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson faced off against Elias and the Miztourage in a short squash match. This is the first time we’ve seen the trio together since they made their main roster debut. The union was initially teased way back at Summerslam 2016, when Finn walked past Gallows, Anderson, and AJ Styles on his way to the ring for his Universal Title bout. Since then, they’ve been kept far apart.

The reunion comes at a curious time, especially considering The Shield reunion has been put on hold due to Dean Ambrose’s injury. Finn is obviously excited about them being together, as he was all smiles the whole time.

So the question remains, what now? How can WWE capitalize off the huge momentum these guys will undoubtedly have rolling into Royal Rumble. One thing is for certain, if the plan is to begin to move Roman Reigns into Universal Title contention for his showdown with Brock Lesnar, then Finn should immediately be injected into the Intercontinental Title picture. Gallows and Anderson can always be lurking behind making sure The Miztourage doesn’t interfere with his matches. Meanwhile, They could begin their ascent to the top pf the Tag team division.

If the plan sounds familiar, it’s because it is. The WWE could essentially plug The Good Brothers in, where The Shield were supposed to be. Finn obviously holds the IC Title, while Gallows and Anderson gets a second (and hopefully better) run with the RAW Tag Titles. They could potentially run with the Titles until Dean is ready to come back, and at that point, a Club vs Shield program would be a must. The Good Brothers could serve as the conduit for a second Shield split, and by the time Summer Slam (most likely Survivor Series) rolls around, we’d finally get that Shield triple Threat we’ve been so anxious for.

For the time being, Finn, Gallows, and Anderson will be the most over thing on Monday Night RAW. So if WWE intends on keeping them together, they best be prepared for the backlash if they’re not booked accordingly. It’s time to finally make Finn the big deal he’s made out to be weekly. It’s time for Gallows and Anderson to be the destructive forces we’re told they were in Japan. If not, their reunion will be wasted, and that would be just too sour.
