Adobe Killing Off Flash Player Starting Tomorrow
1 min readBy Rob Boggan
Beginning tomorrow, new installs of Adobe Flash will be blocked on Android devices as Adobe plans to shutter the aging software. This comes on the heels of Adobe’s announcement to discontinue Android support of Flash a few months ago, and will most likely lead to the company developing a new HTML5 standard for mobile devices. The latest version of Android (Jellybean) is unsupported by flash anyway, so most of us running it (or a custom Jellybean ROM) have noticed the difference for weeks now. For the rest of you out there, today is your last day to snag Adobe Flash for your smartphone, or forever hold your peace.
It’s been a fun ride Adobe Flash. Thanks for the memories.
How do you feel about the death of Flash? Affected? Unaffected? Indifferent? Let us know in the comments!
