Apple Announces iPhone 5, Available Sept. 21st

Well, here we are once again. Fresh off Apple’s iPhone 5 announcement, and the bar has again be raised….for iPhone. The specs look pretty solid as this bad devil will rock the new Apple A6 processor, along with a completely glass and aluminum frame. At a saucy 7.6mm thin, this will be the absolute thinnest iPhone, and for the moment, the thinnest smartphone available. Screen resolution has been bumped to 326 ppi, with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Essentially everything is much more crisp. The cameras have been updated to keep up with the growing demand for better cameras. The Facetime camera has been updated to 720p resolution, while the rear camera maintains the same resolution, but sports improved aperture(2.4), backside illumination, annnnnnd built in panorama. The big elephant in the room was whether or not 4G LTE would be on the new iPhone, and Apple wasted no time confirming that it did indeed sport the new wireless data standard.
While there’s nothing mind blowing with today’s announcement, it’s still a solid upgrade over the 4S. Preorders will start this Friday Sept. 14th, and the phone ships Sept 21st. As for carrier availability, in the US Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T will all have it (sorry T-Mobile), and in Canada Telus, Bell, and Rogers will all get the latest iPhone. Price points will remain the same with the 16GB iPhone 5 at $199, 32GB at $299 and 64GB at $399, all with 2 year agreement.
