Google Bringing Chromebooks To Wal-Mart And Staples
1 min readBy Rob Boggan
Google’s line of affordable, extremely user friendly web centered laptops just snagged two more distribution points. Beginning this weekend, Staples will begin carrying the Chromebooks from Samsung, HP, and Acer, while Wal-Mart will have just the Acer. This marks the first time that a retailer outside of Google themselves or Best Buy have sold the Chromebooks and is surely sparked by their increasing popularity. Chromebooks essentially blend the premise of a laptop and tablet into one ultra slim, ultra portable package. The biggest selling point aside from their simplicity, is and more than likely always will be their price point. Majority of the newer Chromebooks (with the exception of the Pixel) come in at about $199 which is less than what you’d pay for a comparable tablet, and significantly lower than what a basic functioning laptop would run you.
If you’re looking for a really good alternative to a Laptop, but want a more complete solution than what a tablet offers, then a Chromebook may be the best thing for you.
