Jon Moxley Is On Top Of The Wrestling World

Ever since announcing his departure from WWE, born again pro-wrestler Jon Moxley has been everywhere. He popped up in the main event of AEW’s ‘Double or Nothing’ PPV, won a title in New Japan, and is starting to take gigs on the indies as well. Moxley has gone on record as saying, he “feels like he’s 18 again” rediscovering his love for pro wrestling all over again. Refusing to resign with WWE, Moxley struck out and forged his own path after becoming creatively dissatisfied with his role within the massive wrestling company. Exactly one month after leaving WWE, Jon Moxley is on top of the wrestling world, and there are no signs of him slowing down.

Moxley re-emerged during the closing moments of AEW’s stellar Double or Nothing PPV. With industry veteran Chris Jericho berating the audience and the company for not showing him enough respect for his contributions, Mox made his way to the ring. Ironically enough, he arrived in style, cutting through the crowd exactly like he’d done dozens of times as a member of The Shield in WWE. Once he hit the ring, the crowd was in a fever pitch, watching two former WWE mega stars igniting the beacon of the first potential legitimate competition to WWE in years. Not only did Moxley nail Jericho, but he also made sure to attack the company’s other golden boy, Kenny Omega, making a huge statement in the process.

Fast forward a few weeks after his appearance at Double or Nothing, and Moxley has now started to appear everywhere. Most notably, he’s now in New Japan Pro Wrestling, challenging Juice Robinson for their United States Championship. It was like seeing an entirely different person in the ring. Moxley had a new spring in his step, every punch he threw has a certain crispness to it, a snap in the wrist that’d been missing for quite a while. His match against Juice wasn’t a classic by any means, but it was much better than his last few outings. Moxley ended the night victorious over Robinson, crowned the new United States Champion, and the only man ever to hold both the WWE and NJPW US Titles.

In less than two months Jon Moxley has reinvented himself, distancing himself from the Dean Ambrose gimmick that made him a star in WWE. Jon Moxley is a lover of all thing violence and is out to change the face of professional wrestling. His first major match in AEW will come in August, as he goes one-on-one with Kenny Omega. Omega has been a classic match factory and will be an excellent measuring stick for Moxley to test his true wrestling grit. That same night, AEW will crown their first ever champion as Adam Page squares off against Chris Jericho in what is sure to be another excellent match. One thing is for certain though, if Moxley’s star continues to rise, he will most definitely be on a collision course with the man who wins that match.

Either way, Moxley is already set to be a major star in the world of pro wrestling.
