No Simultaneous Voice And Data On Verizon or Sprint iPhone 5

In what is sure to be one of the biggest shockers to come out of the iPhone conference yesterday is the shocking revelation that simultaneous voice and data will only work with AT&T’s iPhone 5. According to The Verge, Verizon Wireless has confirmed that simultaneous voice and data won’t work on the new iPhone even WHILE connected to LTE. This is especially shocking since EVERY other LTE phone in the lineup supports this feature.

The spokesperson went on to say: “The iPhone 5 was designed to allow customers to place a phone call on the Verizon Wireless network while letting customers access the internet over WiFi.” I’m sure AT&T will be once again hammering this point home when the “Which network is better” questions start to arise again. AT&T already held a slight technical advantage since their fallback speeds are faster than both Sprint and Verizon when not in an LTE area, and on top of that they are still the only simultaneous voice and data iPhone carrier once again.

How do you guys feel about this? Will the lack of simultaneous voice and data stop you from making the switch? Or is this a non factor for most of you?
